Read Alberta Challenge: Alberta Author
In honour of the Book Publishers Association of Alberta’s 50th Anniversary, we’ve launched the Read Alberta Summer Reading Challenge! This bingo-esque challenge invites readers to compete against their peers by reading books that correspond to the prompts on the bingo squares. Once they’ve read 5 books in a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal line, they win! For 50 years, the BPAA has supported the development of the Alberta book publishing industry and worked to increase awareness of locally published books. We believe that this initiative is a fun way to continue on that journey, and we hope that you will engage with the challenge and help broaden our reach. Further information about the challenge is included below. Eligibility, Rules, and Prizes ● Participants must cover 5 of the squares in a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal line. ● A separate book must be used for each square (no double dipping). ● The challenge runs from July 2 – August 31. ● Participants must submit the completed bingo square and list of books they read to iheartbooknews@readalberta.ca by September 6. ● 2 winners will be chosen at random and will be notified directly by September 13. The winners will be mailed a Read Alberta prize package, including a Read Alberta water bottle and stickers illustrated by Derek Evernden. ● Eligibility is restricted to Canadian residents only. ● One entry per person only. ● Chances of winning are determined by eligible entries received during the contest period.
