The New Normal by Ashley Little is overall a good book. Although I didn't enjoy not having some questions answered, such as why she was losing her hair, it didn't bother me too much. Tamar is a sixteen year-old teenager who has experienced loss more than anyone else. Not only are her sisters dead, but she is losing hair for an unknown reason. That's not all, she also doesn't know if her hair will ever grow back. Through out the novel she begins to learn how to live her life with her new changes, even even though it's not too easy in the beginning. Tamar and Roy have a romance towards the end of the novel, something the kids at school will never understand. Their bond gets stronger when he drives Tamar and her dad to British Columbia to pick up her injured mother. In the end,Tamar has learned to accept herself, that all of the changes have become the new normal.
