Holly and Ben make a temporary move to England with their family where Holly is presented with a magical key. She and her brother join a neighbor, Everett, to use the key to unlock the door to an alternate, medieval world full of magical creatures. Holly must find the courage to use her new found magical powers to save her brother and friend from the evil royals, but she finds being the keeper of such magic brings more excitement and adventure than she had anticipated. This is a fascinating book, full of magic and mayhem. Ms. Caterer is an excellent writer and tells a great tale with vigor and excitement. I highly recommend this book, not just for young readers, but for old readers as well.
