The debut novel in a terrifying London-based thriller series featuring D.I. Sean Corrigan, who becomes ensnared in an increasingly dangerous psychological game with a killer. This is not simply a procedural. Luke Delaney delves into his characters' psyches, evokes a chilling sense of place, and presents a plot readers won't soon forget. Sean Corrigan is a richly drawn, complicated character. His constant internal struggle against his own troubled history and his instincts and personal code of honour put him at the top of his game. Readers won't be able to get enough.

Very well written although very detailed. The author has deep insight into criminal behavior and it shows. That makes this book very disturbing too, as it delves into the minds of psychopaths. Worth a read if you don't have a short attention span.

This book violates the basic rule of good writing -- show, don't tell. The identity of the killer becomes apparent relatively early in the story and the excessive details and dialogue should have been reduced / edited. Also, I could not empathize with Steve Corrigan and have no interest in the series.
