My favorite poems are "Fancy Dive" because it sounds really fun and then the ending is not so good, and "The Meehoo with an Exactlywatt" because it is a really funny poem. It doesn't make too much sense, which is what makes it funny!

Just as good as I remember from childhood! One of my favourite children's poets, Shel Silverstein demonstrates that poems don't have to be serious, don't always perfectly rhyme, and can be a lot of fun to both read and write. Great for encouraging young budding poets.

This book is a great introduction children can have to poems. In Silverstein's book ther are poems that are great . I would reccommend this book to other children who are a little older. The humor may not be appropriate for very young children

HINGES // If we had hinges on our heads / There wouldn't be no sin, / 'Cause we could take the bad stuff out / And leave the good stuff in.
