This was an exciting book the more I read it. There are mysteries that made me want to know why something happened, and although not all the questions get answered, it makes you want to continue the series. The characters are also very interesting and not quite who they seem at first, which makes the book even more intriguing to read.

I might be a bit biased in the negative for Shatter Me, as I tend to have a pretty high bar set for dystopian novels. It wasn't bad, it was just ok. Juliette, our main character, has the ability to kill with just the touch of her skin, and Warner and his crew are trying to use her to gain complete power in his dictatorship of a society. It's an interesting concept, and I love how she refuses to be shaped by the isolation she experienced as a child, but I just feel it wasn't as good as it could have been. The writing irked me for reasons that also probably aren't fair (Juliette spends most of the time in complete despair, which is realistic, but makes for a really dull read). The romance between Juliette and Adam is cheesy, but at least it isn't forced. I have no idea why people ship Juliette with Warner. He's just bad cheese. Anyway, I recommend this book for anyone who enjoys romance and teen dystopian reads.

I feel like I'm the only one who ships her with Warner... :p Adam is great and all, but I hope that Warner changes or something because Juliette doesn't try to understand him, which I get.

My favourite book of the year. I loved how the ater crosed out thoughts in the book to fit what's true or right for Juliette.

I am so glad that my friend introduced me to this book. It was honestly a really good book. It had special powers, military stuff, and some romance and betrayal. A bit of comedy here and there from my favorite character but mostly action. It's a great book and you just have to read it to understand what I'm raving about here.

I just picked this up thinking, "this might be interesting." This book was so much more than just "interesting."
If you liked The Hunger Games: read this
If you liked The Selection: read this

Shatter Me was amazing 20 pages in.

A few of the characters do curse, though...

I really liked this book,
I'm exited to get the next one. I really want to know why warner and adam can touch juliette. I really like the story and how she scratches some stuff out. I may be crazy but I do ship her and Warner, even though I don't mind adam. I really hope warner goes good or something. The only other thing is I found is she agusted very fast for being isolated to one place for 2 years, and for barley ever talking and pretty much never touching anyone for 17 years. Buts it's a book and she's magical. Over all though I really liked it, I would give it a 4.5-5 stars.

“I don’t understand—why won’t you talk to me?
You sit in the corner all day and write in your book and look at everything but my face. You have so much to say to a piece of paper but I’m standing right here and you don’t even acknowledge me. Juliette, please—”

“I spent my life folded between the pages of books.
In the absence of human relationships I formed bonds with paper characters. I lived love and loss through stories threaded in history; I experienced adolescence by association. My world is one interwoven web of words, stringing limb to limb, bone to sinew, thoughts and images all together. I am a being comprised of letters, a character created by sentences, a figment of imagination formed through fiction.”

"Well you're the murderer," I tell him. "So you must be right."
His smile is laced with dynamite. 'Go to sleep."
"Go to hell."
He works his jaw. Walks to the door. "I'm working on it."
